 brooklyn bayett is the only child born to alicia and emilio, growing up more as a friend than an actual daughter to the eccentric yet brilliant pair. alicia was the true super in the family, blessed with technopathy. emilio's mutation occurred while working at a nuclear plant in his twenties. as a result of a bad fall out for a test that was poorly prepared, he obtained telekinesis and an apparent apt for being invulnerable. by june 21, 1992, the day brooklyn was born, alicia and emilio had already used their powers to the benefit of themselves and others.. just never the law. bank robberies mostly, smuggling money out at night after the bank had closed. though the pair came to be well known for the escapades, they were always lucky to escape police (though not without playing with them for a short while). they were the modern robin hood's of the late 80's and 90's, known for taking from the rich and giving to the poor, erasing or adjusting credit card debt (at least lately in these times), and generally holding a firm stance of "DAMN THE MAN".
it was safe to say that without much persuasion, a young brooklyn grew very much into this mindset as well. however, her parents were strict on one thing - getting a good education, especially with the talents bestowed to her. brooklyn wanted the same but viewed the school with a much different perspective. power absorption was a tricky but thrilling talent that left brooklyn dizzy with ideas, thoughts, power. she grew to love every minute of learning and harnessing her talent, despite the difficulty to easily advance. which goes with out saying, she felt the school would be the perfect opportunity to really let her skills grow. though she's not a particularly pleasant addition to the school, what with her blunt/unnecessary comments and anti-social attitude towards anyone not in her "clique", she does enjoy her time there and tends to keep her nose in a book (normally relating to the supernatural) when she's not being a bitch. she has big plans for as soon as school is over and is glad it's her last year. after all, the whole world awaits and she's ready to take... something on.
in the meantime, she improvises. her code name, obtained only recently, is dodger gunn for a good reason. she's not the girl you want to get angry and is likely to have scathed most of her peers now that it's her senior year. she has a tongue that will give you whiplash and if evoked to be particularly angry, there have been several instances in which an off campus encounter will occur and end with her fiercely using your own powers back against you (if possible). beyond that, pranks are her number one amusement during the school hours. she's the snickering girl in the back of the class, you can bet that.
abilities: power absorption. brooklyn has the ability to usurp the powers of any being for a temporary amount of time, leaving them powerless in return. she's got a pretty good grip of it but in order for her to take the powers, she must be touching that person. she hopes that one day she'll be able to accomplish this simply by seeing the person. in some instances, if she's absorbed the power multiple times, she can later recall it and has has luck in the past two years of being able to bring that power back with enough concentration. honing these skills is her primary goal.
